I Know What You're Thinking ...
You're thinking "But Lorraine, you mean you didn't buy any buttons or bits of lace?" Not to worry, of course I did! Here's a picture:

Antiques at Aberfoyle
Yesterday started at 5:15 a.m. when I got up to get ready for a full day of antiquing with some friends. We arrived at the show which is about an hour's drive west of Toronto, all bright-eyed just after 8 a.m.
We saw faded things:
Rusty things
Pretty chairs in pretty colours
Nice table setting at Chat Noir.
Cupcakes that were both pretty and delicious!
Gorgeous old trunk with the name of one of my favourite Ontario towns.
I bought this book with maps of old London, England
Some wonderful old Air Mail envelopes that I scored!
After about 7 hours at the show, I really did have a Bonne Nuit!
Thank you for a fun day of hunting and gathering, Cynthia and Colleen!

Recent Getaway with Friends
I was lucky a couple of weekends ago to be able to join some friends at a cottage in Thornbury, a few miles north of Toronto. We stopped for lunch in Violet Hill (pretty name for a village!) then continued on. The first evening we celebrated a friend's birthday with lots of food and bubbly. The next two days included more food, shopping and a friendly game of euchre capped off by a spa visit on Sunday.
Toronto Urban Strolls
In keeping with the Toronto theme of my last two posts, I wanted to share this book that I was excited to find recently, Toronto Urban Strolls. I am looking forward to going on some of these great urban excursions with my friends and my iPhone!

King Street on Sunday
I spent another Sunday afternoon in downtown Toronto with my iPhone. Sharing some shots from along King Street West.
It was a great day for some mood shots with the wet streets and misty sky.
Roy Thomson Hall with the CN Tower in the background.
Nice metal sculpture here. I’m sorry I didn’t get a change to record the name of the artist of building.
Had a light dinner at Earls Kitchen & Bar. A nice meal and an enjoyable experience!

Sunday on Queen Street West
I met up with my friends, Diane and Cynthia, last Sunday for a coffee and French pastry at Nadege on Queen Street. After much gabbing and sharing of journals, we headed over to The Paper Place then to Woolfitt’s Art Store. The collage of photographs above shows shots from along Queen Street. Cynthia also posted a nice description of our afternoon and a number of great photographs here and here.Saturday, March 17, 2012
Catching Up
Here are some things that I've been up to for the past few days:
I signed up for this Photography Class. I can't wait for the class to begin in April.
A couple of days ago, I began the Letter Love 101 class with Joanne Sharpe.
Loving it so far. The following photograph is the cover of Joanna's journal - so inspiring:
Listening to Katie Melua a lot these days. Especially this pretty song.
I almost for got mention Pinterest! So much fun to find be able to pin tutorials and inspiring photographs on my boards there. Have a look at my Boards here!
Every time I start a new class, I have to re-organize my workspace to bring out the supplies I need for the new class, so I've been busy revamping my work table ... again. Just need to make a trip to Michaels for a couple of lettering pens . Luckily, I have one of their discount coupons.
I have been working on my Mexico Travel Journal. Photos will be coming later this week.
